THE VITA NOVA FOUNDATION

Founded in July 2005, the Vita Nova (New Life) Foundation is initiated by a group of friends, originally from other parts of the world and who live at present in Sweden. Our mutual goal is to reach out and help the needy especially women and children to have a better life and to enable them to continue their livelihood on their own. Naturally we will not be able to help everyone in need. However, by focusing on small projects, we hope to make a noticeable difference to as many lives as possible. Contributions will go directly to the selected project or charity and we intend to carry out thorough follow-ups to ensure that all funds are used appropriately.

The Vita Nova Foundation is non-political, and non-confessional, and, will not support government led projects.

CONCEPT

Violence remains a major problem in modern society. During the past years it would seem urban violence has increased and the victims are often young women and children.

Violence is also rampant among the poor whether referring to those who are bereft of necessary basic amenities or whether referring to those who simply are not well off.

Battling poverty is therefore an important part in the struggle against violence. There is no greater way to do this than to gain skills that enable each individual to create a better life for themselves by means of their own efforts.

The Vita Nova Foundation therefore believes that victims of violence are firstly and immediately in need of shelter yet such a shelter will not be of use on a longterm basis unless the victim also can in some manner diminish the risks of being subject to further violence.

The victim needs therefore a basic trade and also often needs to find suitable private accomodation in a new location.

AIMS

The Vita Nova Foundation serves to assist young poor women and children, victims of violence, who are in need of shelter.

The Vita Nova Foundation will supply these victims, directly or indirectly, with housing as well as a basic education in a suitable trade within the limits of its capacity provided they are not drug abusers or addicts or otherwise in need of medical care beyond the resources of the foundation.

The Vita Nova Foundation has also established an Emergency Crisis Fund aimed at helping victims of unexpected disasters in the world.

LOCATION

The Vita Nova Foundation wishes to make a difference by initially targeting women and children belonging to ethnic minorities in Sweden.

The Vita Nova Foundation aims at developing similar centers in other countries in the future, specifically in South and South-East Asia.

The Vita Nova Foundation welcomes contributions from the public.
