It started as a small event to start 2008 to raise funds for the Foundation’s Emergency Crisis Fund aimed at helping victims of unexpected disasters in the world. Also presentation of the Foundation’s work – concept, aims, achievements and future plans...

The Wine and Cheese Event was a great success, in terms of the very positive response we received from around the 80 guests those who were there. Publicity-wise we have expanded our network of supporters and we gained both respect and admiration for our organization and for our various activities.

The Philippine Ambassador Maria Zeneida Angara Collinson, made a gracious contribution of the white wines to complete our previous stock of red wines. The Hilton Hotel was very generous in its spread of various delectable cheeses, crackers and fresh bread as well as grapes, pears and celeries which made the whole thing a Feast for the palate and the senses.

The del Pilar sisters, Gladys and Consuelo, entertained us with their powerful heartfelt voices and the guests rocked with the music. The 17 year old Joveth from the Philippines, also showed a promising talent with his mellow voice and excellent stage presence.

The lottery prizes were extraordinary. The catering company Westers donated the first prize with a Catering Dinner for 8 people with their own Chef coming to the winners house to demonstrate his cooking skills. Lea Silander from the International Women´s Club won this coveted prize. And there were many other fine prizes donated by so many generous people.

All in all, the Wine and Cheese Event was a memorable occasion and it is something worth repeating every year.
