Jazz Evening - June 2, 2006
Restaurant Druvan, Artillerigatan 13, Stockholm

The evening started at 6 p.m. with a welcome drink for all the guests. There were 80 friends and supporters who came to share this relaxing and casual evening with good food, wine and entertainment provided by our very accomplished jazz musician, Lennart Andersson. Known throughout Sweden by his nickname "Lillen", Lennart has played with all the greats of Swedish jazz, including Lars Gullin, Alice Babs and Charlie Norman. He is mainly a tenor saxophone player, in a style reminiscent of Stan Getz, Lennart also plays the accordion and is an accomplished pianist and it is in this role that he entertained us that evening.

The programme also included a lottery draw, with more than 20 prizes to be won. After 2 hours of more music and dancing, the evening came to a close at midnight.

The proceeds from this event, which amounted to 13,000 SEK, went to the Foundation's Emergency Crisis Fund. This fund was created with the aim to assist victims of natural disasters, following the recent earthquake that hit the island of Java in Indonesia. Authorities of the Indonesian Embassy in Stockholm were contacted to identify a particular group or project that would benefit from our contribution.
